and their Native American guests gathered around tables laden with
food to remember the details of the perilous voyage and events since
arriving at Plymouth. |
|
|
Costumes |
Typical
Pilgrim and Indian |
|
Props |
Tables,
chairs, pots, tableware, etc. (rough/simple designs) |
|
Cast |
3 men, 2
Indians, 3 women, 1 girl (but could be flexible) |
|
Action |
The action
centers around the table(s) so passing bowls, platters, etc. would
work as well as moving around setting the table(s). Characters can
alternate standing/sitting as is comfortable, flexible. Someone
could set up targets for the practice or maybe some games. Just
have fun, but keep the action going. |
|
Service Ideas |
Could be
performed in conjunction with a church-wide Thanksgiving meal with
testimonies, songs, and perhaps the Gospel. Could also be used by a
Christian school for a Thanksgiving program. |

the Thanksgiving story including the journey across the ocean until
the harvest is complete. |
|
Cast |

Idea: if needed, the cast can be changed for different scenes to
give more children a chance to have a part and less to memorize
(i.e. boy 1 scene 1, boy 1 scene 2 different boys). |
|
Props |
Games to choose:
stool ball: Two groups of children each guard their stool from being
hit by the leather ball thrown by the other side or catch a ring on
a large pin. |

Music (optional) |
Count Your
Blessings, Thank You, Lord, for examples; or something available in
your church hymnal. Songs can be used at the end of each scene. |

foam core using coloring pages as a pattern, whatever the budget

|
Set Design |
Scene 1
is on the Mayflower. The ship could be constructed out of an
empty refrigerator box and painted to resemble the Mayflower

depicting the first feast. |
